Indian Caught with Rs. 23 Million Worth of Drugs At BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st); An Indian national was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) unit at Katunayake Airport for possession of Kush, a cannabis derivative, valued at Rs. 23 million.

The suspect was apprehended at the arrival terminal of Katunayake Airport.

Police reports indicate that the suspect was found with 1 kilogram and 908 grams of Kush mixed with cannabis.

The 73-year-old Indian national had arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok.

The narcotics were cleverly concealed in a small punch bag hidden among packets of sweets.
