Assassination Attempt on Sri Lankan Crime Boss's Family Foiled

COLOMBO (News 1st); An assassination attempt on the family members of the wife of notorious crime boss, Kehelbaddara Padme has been thwarted.

Si Lanka Police reported that two individuals, who arrived with the intent to carry out the murder, were apprehended thanks to the intervention of intelligence officers.

Notorious crime boss, Kehelbaddara Padme, and his wife are currently abroad, while her family resides in the Pannala area.

According to Sri Lanka Police, intelligence was received on Monday (24) afternoon regarding two individuals who were recording video footage of the house.

Acting swiftly, the police arrested the two suspects.

At the time of the incident, the mother, father, and younger brother of Kehelbaddara Padme's wife were present in the house.

The police also recovered a foreign-manufactured firearm from the suspects.

It has been revealed that the firearm was provided by a Dubai-based organized crime figure known as Dubai Sameera.

Further questioning of the arrested suspects is underway, and they are expected to be presented in court soon.
