COLOMBO (News 1st); A police constable has been detained for 90 days in connection with the attempted escape of Nadun Chinthaka, also known as "Harak Kata," a notorious organized crime figure.
The detention order was issued following a request from Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Sampath Thuyacontha.
The suspect will be held and interrogated under the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID).
According to police statements, the constable was brought back to Sri Lanka on the 19th after being apprehended in a foreign country where he had been hiding.
Harak Kata had planned his escape while being questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
