Norochcholai Generators to be Restored by Thursday, Says CEB

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said that a decision regarding the continuation of power outages tomorrow will be made this afternoon. 

Today, scheduled power outages will be implemented from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM to manage the electricity supply effectively.

Each area will experience a power cut lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The schedule is as follows:

- Zones A, B, C, and D: Power cuts from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

- Zones E, F, G, H, U, and V: Power cuts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

- Zones I, J, K, L, P, and Q: Power cuts from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

- Zones R, S, T, and W: Power cuts from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Meanwhile, the CEB has indicated that the three inactive generators at the Norochcholai Power Plant are expected to be restored by Thursday. 

CEB spokesperson Dhammika Wimalaratne stated that once the generators are operational, there will be no need for further power cuts to manage the national grid.
