Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith Calls for True Freedom, Unity, and Economic Progress on Sri Lanka's 77th Independence Day

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special mass was held this morning at the All Saints Church in Borella, in celebration of the 77th Independence Day of Sri Lanka.

The service was conducted under the leadership of His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo.

The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith addressing the devotees requested the President, Prime Minister, and all government ministers to truly change the current corrupt systems, and to bring real freedom, unity, dignity, and democracy to the people of Sri Lanka.

He further urged that the government of Sri Lanka steer the nation towards genuine economic progress by upholding the rule of law in the ongoing efforts that the government has already begun.
