COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan mountaineer Johann Peries has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the first Sri Lankan to summit Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica.
Peries is on a mission to conquer the tallest mountain on each of the seven continents. In 2018, he became the second Sri Lankan to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
To date, he has successfully scaled four of the world's highest peaks: Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, and Mount Everest in Asia.
