Two suspects with explosives arrested in Mannar

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  A combined search operation conducted by the Navy with the Police led to the arrest of 02 suspects along with 10 water gel sticks – a type of explosive, 10 non-electric detonators and 02 feet of safety fuse in Mannar and Shanthipuram. 

The search also resulted in the seizure of a motorbike used for transporting water gel sticks.

The suspects were identified as residents of Talvupadu and Shanthipuram in Mannar, aged 28 and 36. 

The suspects together with seized explosives and the motorbike were handed over to the Mannar Police for legal action.
