COLOMBO (News 1st); The Court of Appeal has scheduled a hearing for March 19 to review a petition filed against the tender awarded for the purchase of five million e-passports by the previous administration.
The decision was made today by Court of Appeal Judge Mohammad Lafar Tahir during a session where the petition was presented.
President's Counsel Viran Corea, representing Epic Lanka Private Limited, requested an expedited hearing date, citing the urgency of the matter.
During the session, a lawyer representing the respondents requested additional time to file further objections. Judge Tahir granted this request and set the hearing date for March 19.
Additionally, President's Counsel Viran Corea requested permission to amend the names of the respondents in the petition, which was also granted by the judge.
