Police to Recruit 9,000 New Officers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The police have announced plans to recruit 9,000 new officers.
The current police force consists of approximately 75,000 officers, engaged in traffic control, crime, and drug control operations.
The police said that the decision to recruit new officers was made due to the insufficient number of current personnel to effectively manage all responsibilities.
