'Clean Sri Lanka' Leads to Railway Cleanup Program

COLOMBO (News 1st): Cleaning activities at railway stations commenced today under the Clean Sri Lanka program.

According to the Department of Railways, the main program was launched at the Fort Railway Station.

The program is also being implemented at 100 other railway stations across the island.

The Railway Department says cleaning railway tracks, platforms, and train compartments are also being conducted simultaneously.

Accordingly, members of the department, voluntary organizations, and others will engage in the process.

Meanwhile, passengers have claimed that the Pulathisi Intercity Express Train train has been infested with spiders.

Following an inquiry made by News 1st, an official said that the process of cleaning these compartments too is currently underway.
