Suspect Arrested at Airport for Smuggling Gold into Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport for attempting to smuggle gold into Sri Lanka illegally. The police say that the individual, a 25-year-old from Welamboda, had arrived from Abu Dhabi.

The airport police detained the suspect and confiscated several gold items, including four gold necklaces, one pendant, two bracelets, a gold bangle, and a gold ring.

Further investigations into the incident are currently ongoing.
