COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Mohamed Rizvie Salih has shared details of his professional qualifications, emphasizing the importance of trust and accountability in leadership 

In a recent post on his official Facebook account, Dr. Salih explained his belief that transparency about leadership credentials is crucial for maintaining public confidence. 

He outlined his qualifications, including an MBBS degree from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan, earned in 1986, and a Diploma in Laryngo Otorhinology (DLO) from the University of Colombo. 

He is also a registered medical practitioner with the Sri Lanka Medical Council and has practiced medicine for 38 years.

Dr. Salih's career began in government service, where he worked in various hospitals across Sri Lanka's provinces and in Colombo.

After 12 years of public service, he transitioned to general medical practice to continue serving the community in a broader capacity.

By sharing this information, Dr. Salih aims to reaffirm the trust placed in him by the people, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in his role as Deputy Speaker.

His decision to publicly disclose his qualifications comes amid a heightened focus on transparency in leadership, following the resignation of Speaker Ashoka Ranwala over concerns regarding his educational qualifications.
