Hearing of Case Against Former Minister Johnston and Two Others, Commences

COLOMBO (News 1st): The hearing of a case filed by the Commission to investigate allegations of Bribery or Corruption against three defendants including former Minister Johnston Fernando and former Sathosa Chairman Eraj Fernando commenced today and was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige.

The case has been filed for allegedly causing losses to the state by involving a group of Sathosa employees in political activities, removing them from their original duties. 

Under the guidance of Deputy Solicitor General Wasantha Perera, evidence was recorded today.

Further hearing is scheduled to resume on December 13th.
