According to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, The Revised electricity tariffs will be imposed within 6-8 weeks of the submission of the electricity tariff proposal by the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Time will be allocated to study and gather public comments once the proposal is recieved.
The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the revised electricity tariff proposal adjusted according to the requests made by the PUCSL will be handed over to Commission tomorrow.
Its media spokesperson Eng.A.D.K Parakramasinghe says that the preperation process is in its final stage.
The CEB earlier had proposed a tariff reduction of 6 - 11 percent for the final quarter of 2024.
The PUCSL Rejecting the proposal instructed the CEB to revise the tariff revision proposal for the first six months of 2025.
