54 Senior Police Officers Transferred

COLOMBO (News 1st): 54 senior police officers in Sri Lanka have been transferred with immediate effect, following approval from the National Police Commission.

- Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) I.S. Muthumala has been appointed the new Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She previously served as Deputy Director at the CID.

- SSP M.M. Dehideniya, former Director of the CID, has been transferred to the Nugegoda Division as Officer in Charge (OIC).

- Deputy Inspector General (DIG) H.D.K.S. Perera has been appointed the Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division.

- SSP I.U.K. Lokuhettige is now leading the Colombo Crimes Division.

- SSP K.B. Manathunga has been appointed the Director of the Police Media Division and Police Spokesperson.

- SSP H.M.L. Amarasena is the new Director of the Special Investigations Unit.

Additional transfers at the senior leadership level include:

- DIG A.G.J.J. Chandrakumara to the Police Field Forces Headquarters.

- DIG S.M.Y. Senaviratne as DIG in charge of the Kegalle District.

- DIG L.A.U. Sarath Kumara will now lead the Kurunegala District.

- DIG R.A.R.N. Rajapaksa is assigned to the Police Cadet Division.

- DIG A.L.Y.U.N.P. Liyanage will oversee the Colombo District.

Other officer transfers include:

- SSP Darshika Kumari to the CID's Computer Crime Investigation Unit.

- SSP C.M.N.T. Kumar as the Principal Administrative Officer of the National Police Academy.

- SSP K.G.P.B. Samarapala as OIC of the Colombo North Division.

- SSP Sugath Kumara to the Colombo Central Division.

- SSP P.M.R. Ambepitiya as OIC of Kankesanturai.

- SSP P.J.M. Ariyasena, formerly Director at Police Headquarters, has been transferred to the Medical Service Division.

- SSP P.G.S. Gunathilaka as OIC of the Ampara Division.

- SSP Y.B. Krishantha, previously in charge of the Kelaniya Division, will now lead the Kabitigollawa Division.

- SSP S.K. Rupasinghe has been appointed Director of the Police Examination Division.

- Superintendent of Police P.S. Jayamaha has been transferred from Nugegoda Division to Jaffna Division.

- SSP A.A. Edirimanne is now Director of the Human Rights Division.

- SSP T.K. Withanage has been appointed OIC of the Kantale Division.

- SSP C.C. Bamunaarachchi has been appointed Personal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police and Acting Director of Police Headquarters.

- SSP K.J.S. Karunasinghe has been appointed Director of the Public Order Division.

- SSP Mohan Lal has been transferred to the position of Director of the Tourist Police Division.

- SSP A.J. Gunasekera is now the Director of the Child and Women Abuse Prevention Division.

- SSP K.B.K. Perera has been assigned as Director of the Ministry Coordination Division.

- M.N. Jayapathma has been appointed Director of the Western Province South Crime Division.

- Superintendent of Police Udaya Kumara is now the Director of the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Unit.

Additionally, two Senior Superintendents of Police, four Superintendents of Police, and seven Assistant Superintendents of Police have also been transferred with immediate effect.
