Police Ramp Up Security Ahead of General Election

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Police have rolled out a special security plan ahead of the general election.

Around 10,500 personnel from the Sri Lanka Civil Security Force has been deployed, supported by additional officers from the Tri-Forces.

The authorities have set up 131 roadblocks across the country, including temporary checkpoints at 52 vote counting centers.
