Rs. 2,000 Mn Worth of Heroin Seized

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested two suspects in the Nugegalayaya area of Sevanagala with a large quantity of heroin. 

The seized heroin weighs approximately 53 kilograms and 600 grams, with an estimated street value of around 2000 million rupees.

The STF discovered the heroin hidden in three plastic containers buried in the garden of a house during a search operation.

A senior police officer stated that the arrested individuals were a married couple.

The suspects have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation. 

The STF revealed that the female suspect is the sister of Omalpe Dhammika Samankumara, who was previously arrested by the STF in Piliyandala.
