COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission has reported a significant increase in the number of postal voting applications for the upcoming General Election compared to the previous Presidential Election.
According to the Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, an additional 25,731 postal voting applications have been received for the General Election.
The total number of postal voting applications submitted for this election stands at 738,050.
Out of these, 21,160 applications have been rejected.
The printed postal ballot papers are scheduled to be handed over to the district returning officers tomorrow.
