Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Election: Special Day for Polling Card Distribution Amid Holiday Operations

COLOMBO (News 1st): Today, October 17, 2024 has been designated as a special day for distributing official polling cards for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe said that although today is a public holiday, all postal workers in the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha locality, will be on duty.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe further said that the secured packets containing postal ballots were sent to the certifying officers, and that the postal department is now receiving the used packets.

He added that steps are being taken by the department of posts, to forward these packets to the District Returning Officers in Galle.
