8,352 Candidates Wait For Preference Numbers

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission has announced that the preference numbers for candidates contesting the parliamentary elections will be released today.
Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake stated that the district returning officers will be responsible for issuing these preference numbers.
A total of 8,352 candidates are contesting in this general election, with the highest number of candidates, 966, competing in the Colombo District.
