31 Chinese Nationals Arrested in Kandy and Kotte

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have arrested 31 Chinese nationals who were suspiciously lodging in the Kandy and Ethul Kotte areas.

According to police reports, one woman was among those apprehended at a hotel in the Aniwatte area of Kandy. 

Investigations are underway to determine if these individuals have any connections with the Chinese nationals arrested the previous day.

On Saturday (12), 126 Chinese nationals, two Vietnamese nationals, and one Thai national were arrested in the Naththaranpotha area of Pallekele, Kandy.

In Ethul Kotte, four women were among the 15 Chinese nationals detained while staying in an apartment complex.

The police have stated that further investigations into the 161 foreigners arrested over the past two days will be conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department.
