COLOMBO ( News 1st); The Election Commission has granted approval to reinstate various benefits, including the fertilizer subsidy for the Maha season, the fuel subsidy for fishermen, and the increase in pension benefits, that were temporarily suspended during the presidential election period.

In a media release, the Commission confirmed that there is no objection to the increased pension allowances set to be paid in October, along with September's arrears.

They urged the public not to believe false claims suggesting these allowances would not be provided.

Additionally, the Commission emphasized the need to obtain approval for any recruitment, promotions, transfers, and restrictions of officials and employees.

This measure aims to prevent the misuse of state property during parliamentary elections.
