Train travel between Mahawa - Anuradhapura will be suspended for 6 months

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Railway Control Room says that the train operating along the section from Mahawa to Anuradhapura on the northern line will be suspended from Sunday( due to a railway renovation project.

Deputy General Manager of N.J. Idipolage says that the train tracks which are in usable condition will be allocated for the Trincomalee - Batticaloa trains and that train running on the section from Mahawa to Anuradhapura will be halted for a period of 6 months.

Due to this, Deputy General Manager of Ceylon Transport Board  Panduka Swarnahansa says that steps have been taken to deploy buses required for the ease of travel of the people.
