COLOMBO (News 1st); The 2023 GCE Advanced Level examination will commence on Thursday (04).
Deputy Commissioner of Examinations Lasika Samarakoon said 346,976 candidates will sit for the exam at 2,298 examination centers.
He said admission cards have been sent to all candidates and if a candidate has not received the exam admission card, it can be downloaded via the official website of the Department of Examinations.
The 2023 A/Level exams will be held until the 31st of January.
A special examination center has been set up for students sitting for the exam in areas affected by disasters caused by heavy showers.
The Department of Examinations said accordingly, a special examination center was established at the Manampitiya Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya for candidates of the Aralaganwila, Welikanda, and Dimbulagala education zones.
The Department added that facilities have been provided at the center for candidates of all streams.
The Department of Examinations has also taken measures to establish two new examination coordination centers, due to the disaster.
They were established centering the Galkiriyagama Central College and Lunugala College.
The Deputy Commissioner of Examinations said candidates can contact the Disaster Management Center via the 117 hotline if they are facing a disaster situation, and obtain transport or other services.
He said candidates can also contact the Department of Examinations via 1911 hotline if they face a disaster situation during the conduct of the hotline.
