Report on Nugegoda Woman's Death To Minister Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health is expected to hand over a comprehensive report to the Health Minister detailing the investigation into the death of a woman at the Colombo National Hospital following a recent surgery.

The deceased, identified as a 61-year-old from Nugegoda, tragically passed away recently.

Amidst public concern, the Health Ministry Secretary, Palitha Mahipala, confirmed the final investigation report will be handed over to Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana for review.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Ravi Kumudesh, President of the Association of Health Professionals, has raised serious allegations.

Kumudesh claims the patient may have been mistakenly administered carbon dioxide instead of oxygen.

Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe, Director of the Colombo National Hospital, has confirmed that an internal investigation is also underway to ascertain the cause of death.
