COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka's cricket team achieved a significant milestone today by winning the Test series against New Zealand by 2-0.

The decisive second Test match took place at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, where Sri Lanka triumphed by an innings and 154 runs.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored a massive 602 runs before declaring their innings, with Dinesh Chandimal, Kamindu Mendis, and Kusal Mendis each scoring centuries.

In response, New Zealand struggled in their first innings, managing only 88 runs before being all out.

Prabath Jayasuriya led the bowling attack with 6 wickets, while Nishan Peiris took 3.

To avoid defeat, New Zealand batted again but could only score 360 runs in their second innings.
