Joe Biden Congratulates AKD on Presidential Victory

COLOMBO (News 1st); US President Joe Biden extended his congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his recent victory in the Sri Lankan presidential election. 

President Biden highlighted the significance of the election, noting that it was conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, reflecting the pride of the Sri Lankan people.

"The people of Sri Lanka chose you as their president in a free, fair, and peaceful election of which they are justifiably proud," President Biden remarked.

President Biden also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with President-elect Disanayake, emphasizing the importance of advancing peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. "I look forward to working with you to advance peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific," he stated.
