Human Rights Commission Launches Investigation Into Grade 5 Scholarship Examination Scandal

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Human Rights Commission has launched an investigation into the alleged leak of the first question paper of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.

Commissioner Nimal Punchihewa stated that officials from the Ministry of Education and the Examinations Department have been summoned tomorrow to provide statements.

He further stated that they will consider the impact on the students who sat for the scholarship examination and the violation of their human rights in this regard.

Meanwhile, two suspects have been arrested for allegedly leaking the  scholarship examination paper.The Arrest were made following Investigation carried out by the CID. 

The Ministry of Education has also temporarily suspended the marking of answer sheets for this year's scholarship examination until the investigations of the Criminal Investigations Department are completed.
