Cop Arrested for Soliciting Bribe in Pothuhera

COLOMBO (News 1st); A Police Sergeant has been arrested for accepting a bribe worth Rs. 5,000.

According to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, the officer has allegedly solicited a bribe worth Rs. 5,000 from a person in Thala Wattegedara, Pothuhera.

Accordingly, the officer was arrested near a restaurant in Pothuhera.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Polgahawela Magistrate Court.
