Fatal Shootings Reported in Kohuwala and Tangalle

COLOMBO (News 1st); In a tragic turn of events, two individuals lost their lives in separate shooting incidents in the Kohuwala and Tangalle areas last night.

The first incident occurred on Sarankara Road in Kohuwala, where a 43-year-old shop owner from Dehiwala was fatally shot. 

According to police reports, the victim was inside his shop when two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire and fled the scene. The motive behind the murder remains unknown.

The second shooting took place in the Dematawala Watta area of Tangalle.

A 32-year-old herdsman was found with gunshot wounds in a coconut plantation. 

The discovery was made during a search operation after he failed to return home with his cattle. Despite efforts to transport him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route.
