COLOMBO (News 1st); Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate of the National People's Power, has called for the formation of a government that ensures the security of every community and eradicates racism.

Speaking in the eastern part of the country, Dissanayake emphasized the need for national unity and the defeat of racist politics in Sri Lanka.

"Change is needed. The change of national unity must be achieved by defeating this racist politics in our country. There is no racism among Sinhala and Tamil people in our country. Racism in our country belongs to the politicians. When they cannot solve all the problems of the country, they use racism," said Dissanayake.

Dissanayake criticized the use of racism by politicians to gain power, citing the 2019 SLPP government's rise to power through divisive tactics. He urged voters to reject these camps and support a politics free of racism.

"The country needs a change. A politics without racism. Today, the only camp without racism is the National People's Power. Let's form a government that will enforce the law against all extremism, secure national unity, ensure the safety of all people, and strengthen the rights of all people," he stated.
