SC dismisses petition against President

COLOMBO (News1st); The Supreme Court on Wednesday (28) ordered the dismissal of the fundamental rights petition filed requesting the President to issue an order to appoint an Acting Inspector General of Police subject to a court fee of Rs.50,000/-.

The petition was filed by Attorney-At-Law R.S.P. Ranasuriya.

The petition also requested that the President be declared unfit to be a candidate for the Presidential Election because he has violated the Constitution of Sri Lanka by not following the orders of the Supreme Court.
