Over 1,000 Election Complaints Filed, Reports Election Commission

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police reported a noticeable increase in complaints related to the presidential election. 

As of 6 AM today, 52 complaints have been received, with 18 of these pertaining to criminal cases. 

In connection with these complaints, 15 supporters have been arrested, and two vehicles have been taken into police custody. 

Due to the rise in complaints of election law violations, police have increased the number of raids and daily mobile patrols.

Meanwhile, the National Election Commission has reported 127 complaints related to the presidential election within the past 24 hours. 

The majority of these complaints, totaling 105, involve violations of election laws. Additionally, three complaints have been received regarding acts of violence.

To date, the Election Commission has recorded a total of 1,052 complaints concerning the presidential election.
