Sajith Rejects Extreme Economic Policies

COLOMBO (News 1st); Opposition leader and presidential candidate of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Sajith Premadasa, has issued a call to action for all citizens to unite in the fight against corruption and to strive for economic freedom.

Addressing the business community, Premadasa emphasized that his team possesses the knowledge, skill, and competence necessary to recover the nation from its current economic crisis. 

He outlined a vision for economic growth driven by a blend of humanitarian capitalism and social democracy, focusing on export-oriented development. This approach, he asserted, would lead to a prosperous nation with rapid economic growth, where the benefits are shared by all, ensuring social justice and equality.

Premadasa rejected both extreme liberal economic policies, such as trickle-down economics, and radical socialist methods, advocating instead for a balanced path of fairness and justice. He stressed that this new approach would ensure the equitable distribution of national income and eliminate corruption, fraud, and theft.
