President Obtains Blessings In Kandy

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe, after submitting his nomination papers for the upcoming Presidential Election yesterday (15), visited the historic Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, where he paid homage to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, and received blessings.

The President was welcomed by the Chief Custodian of Sri Dalada Maligawa, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela.

The President then proceeded to the upper chamber where he engaged in religious rituals and paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, and received blessings.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe then visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya, where he

received blessings from the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Ven.Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Mahanayaka thero. 

Following this, President Ranil Wickremesinghe proceeded to the Asgiri Maha Vihara and received blessings from the Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayaka Thera, the Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter.
