COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has received a total of 99 complaints related to violations of election laws.

The National Election Complaints Management Centre received 68 complaints, while District Election Complaint Management Centers received 31 complaints.

The complaints were received from July 3 until yesterday.

Only 14 complaints were reported between early morning and 4.30 pm yesterday.

All complaints received were related to violations of election laws.

In an effort to streamline the process, the Election Commission has taken steps to systematize election complaints.

This joint program involves collaboration between the Sri Lanka Police and the Election Commission.

A new system has been established across various institutions, including District Election Offices, Police Stations, and the National Election Commission, and will be implemented starting tomorrow.

The Sri Lanka Police emphasized that the new system will help prevent duplication of complaints and allow for better examination of actions taken by concerned parties.
