EC to summon Ministry Secretaries

COLOMBO (News1st); A decision has been reached to summon all Ministry Secretaries to the Election Commission.

Chairman of the Election Commission R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said they were summoned to inform them of the necessary arrangements to conduct a free and fair election.

He said they will be informed of the law in effect in the country following the Presidential Election announcement.

The meeting will be held next week.

The Election Commission said plans are also in place to summon heads of state and semi-government institutions to Colombo to inform them regarding the election law.
