Ranil Proposes Threat Assessment Committee for Candidates and Former Presidents

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has submitted a Cabinet paper proposing the appointment of a committee to conduct threat assessments on the presidential candidates and former Presidents.

The President's Media Division said that this was in view of the forthcoming Presidential election, & to ensure the safety of the candidates.

The PMD said that this is also to ensure required security for them, and the DIG will be appointed to oversee these security arrangements.
