6 Arrested for Illegal Gem Mining in Bogawantalawa

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Six people suspected of mining gems without licenses have been arrested in the Maeliya Reserve in Bogawantalawa.
Police said the arrests were made based on a tip-off received by officers from the Police Special Task Force's Maskeliya camp.
According to the Police, the suspects are between the ages of 20 and 44.
