Public requested to refrain from bathing in unsafe water bodies

COLOMBO (News 1st); 

Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) informed the public to avoid bathing in unsafe water bodies when visiting Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and other areas during the Poson pilgrimage season.

Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Life Saving Asanka Nanayakkara says around 900 life-saving personnel including police, naval and life-saving officers have been stationed near the water bodies in those areas.

Nanayakkara informed the public only bathe in safe locations where lifeguards are on duty.
