Sri Lankan Athletes Shine at Taiwan Open

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan athletes are making waves on the athletics track, showcasing their talent at the Taiwan Open Athletics Tournament held in Taipei.

Tarushi Karunaratne stole the show in the women's 400m race, securing first place with a personal best time of 52.48 seconds. This victory marked a significant achievement for Karunaratne and highlighted her dedication to the sport.

Nadisha Ramanayake also displayed her talent, placing fourth in the same event with a time of 53.93 seconds.

Sri Lanka's success wasn't limited to the women's competition. Aruna Darshan dominated the men's 400m race, crossing the finish line in a dominant 45.82 seconds, securing the gold medal.

Further adding to the team's achievements, Gayantika Abeyratne secured a strong second-place finish in the women's 1500m race, clocking in at 4 minutes 24.66 seconds.
