Customs Officer arrested with 7,000 illegal cigarettes

COLOMBO (News1st); An Assistant Customs Officer has been arrested in Colombo Fort with a stock of illegal cigarettes.
Sri Lanka Police said the suspect was arrested while transporting 7,000 cigarettes in a van.
Sri Lanka Police said Rs.590,000, which was allegedly earned by selling the illegal cigarettes was also seized.
The suspect is a 57-year-old resident of Angoda, Gothatuwa.
