Hydropower generation in Sri Lanka increases up to 40%

COLOMBO (News 1st); Hydro-power generation in the country has significantly increased as a result of the prevailing weather in the country.
Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy Sulakshana Jayawardena says Hydro-power generation before the monsoonal rain was recorded at 20%.
Hydro-power generation has increased upto 40% as a result of the prevailing weather.
The water capacity at major rivers in Sri Lanka has increased upto 60% due to the prevailing weather.
It was recorded at 39% before the prevailing weather.
