'Well Of Death' Collapse Injures Eight in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); Eight people were injured and hospitalized after a section of a 'Well Of Death' set up in Divulapelessa, Girandurukotte, collapsed on Thursday (23) night.

Sri Lanka Police said that the collapse took place when spectators were heading to the observation platform, ahead of the start of the show.

The 'Well Of Death' was set up at the Rotalawala Mahawelia Grounds, and was part of a carnival taking place there.

The injured were admitted to the Girandurukotte and Mahiyanganaya hospitals for treatment.
