COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) says that they have received information about money scam of users' bank details by posting fake ads on social networks.
Its Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunopola said that 03 complaints have been lodged in this regard so far.
He said this scam will occur when users click on some ads which redirect them to another tab or chat which will steal their privileged bank information.
The new chat will require users to download an app in order to continue the relevant purchase of the advertised equipment.
The engineer also said if the users continue with the installation of the required app, the control of the users mobile phone will fall into the hands of a third party and will compromise all privilaged data.
