Over 9,000 AWOL Army Personnel Discharged During Two Weeks Of Amnesty

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Army announced a general amnesty period for Army personnel who have been absent without leave from 20 April 2024 to 20 May 2024.
As of the end of the first two weeks of this amnesty period, between 20 April 2024 and 04 May 2024, a total of 9735 Army personnel who were absent without leave since 31 December 2023 and before, have been temporarily discharged from their Regimental Centers.
Additionally, arrangements have been made for 35 personnel who are currently overseas and absent without leave to legally be discharged from the Army during this amnesty period.
