Daily Payment of Tea Estate Workers Increase

COLOMBO (News 1st); The total daily payment for workers in the Tea Growing and Manufacturing Trade has been increased to Rs.1,700.

Issuing a gazette Commissioner General of Labour H. K. K. A. Jayasundara said the payment includes a daily wage of Rs.1,350 and a daily special allowance of Rs.350.

The daily wage includes the daily budgetary relief allowance and should be applied for the payment of EPF and ETF.

The gazette further states that the payment to workers in the rubber growing and Raw Rubber Manufacturing Trade was also increased accordingly.
