Colombo (News 1st); Several political parties have started preparations to celebrate International Labour Day on the 1st of May this year.

General Secretary of the United National Party Palitha Range Bandara says the UNP Rally will be held at Maligawatta in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

MP Tissa Attanayake says May Day rallies of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will be held at Chatham Street, Pettah, and Talawakelle this year.

MP Sanjeewa Edirimanne says The May Day Rally of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will be held at Campbell Park, Borella this year.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party May Day Rally is scheduled to be held at the Municipal Council Grounds, Gampaha.

A senior member of the party says all members of the party are expected to attend the rally held in Gampaha.

The May Day rallies of the National People's Power will be held across the island under the theme "Rata Hadana Visadumata Jana Balaya Eka Pelata (රට හදන විසඳුමට, ජන බලය එක පෙලට)".

The May Day March scheduled to be held in Colombo will take place at 2 pm at the BRC Ground, Colombo followed by the rally at 3 pm at the CWW Kannangara Mawatha

The May Day Rally in Jaffna is scheduled to be held at 10 am at the Nanda Selva Theater, Jaffna.

The May Day March scheduled in Matara will take place at 2 pm at the Rahula Junction followed by the rall at the Matara Beach Park at 3.30 pm.

The Anuradhapura May Day Rally is scheduled to be held at the Anuradhapura Public Stadium at 3.30 pm.
