COLOMBO (News1st); Electricity trade unions said legal action will be taken against the Sri Lanka Electricity Bill presented in Parliament on Thursday (25).
Convener of the CEB Joint Trade Union Alliance Ranjan Jayalal said the bill puts Sri Lanka's energy sector in grave danger.
He said legal action will be taken prior to the 8th of May, adding that facts were also presented to political groups and several other factions.
Jayalal added that measures will be taken to take action against the bill at grassroot level.
He further said the bill was not drafted by experts in the Sri Lankan energy sector adding that it has an Indian connection.
