'Maldivian' Airlines Colombo Route Now Open

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Bandaraike International Airport on Friday (22) morning welcomed Maldivian Airlines, which started their latest flight route to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from Male, Maldives.

Maldivian, the renowned flag carrier of the Maldives, operates two weekly flights departing every Thursday and Saturday, providing flexible options for both leisure and business travellers.

Launching its operations, the first flight arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport on February 25, 2024, with 138 passengers, and the flight was welcomed by a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival at BIA and, the passengers were warmly welcomed with Sri Lanka Tea Board sponsored Ceylon Tea gift packs followed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva among other officials was present.
